Nintendo Co. this week released Metroid Fusion for the Wii U Virtual Console division in the Nintendo eShop.

Metroid Fusion, originally released to the Game Boy Advance, is an action-adventure title released in 2002.

It sells at $7.99.

Nintendo recorded a profit of $99 million in the third quarter.

The Wii U has sold 5.86 million hardware units and 29.37 software units to date. It sold 2.4 million Wii U units in the quarter.

The company forecasted a loss of $242 million for the fiscal year ending Mar. 31. In addition, it lowered Wii U annual sales to 2.8 million from nine million.
