Nintendo Co. this week said Wii U hardware held a 25 percent increase in sales year-over-year at U.S. retail in Feb.
The hardware is estimated to have sold 82,500 units in Feb.
Nintendo recorded a profit of $99 million in the third quarter.
The Wii U has sold 5.86 million hardware units and 29.37 software units to date. It sold 2.4 million Wii U units in the quarter.
The company forecasts a loss of $242 million for the fiscal year ending Mar. 31. In addition, it lowered Wii U annual sales to 2.8 million from nine million.
