Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 ranked third in Japan in the latest retail figures for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS3 sold 10,226 units between Feb. 10 to Feb. 16 to rank No. 3 in overall hardware sales.

By comparison, the hardware sold 10,240 units the week prior.

The hardware ranked one title in the top 10, Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. Full Boost at No. 9.

Sony this week said the Playstation 4 has sold 5.3 million units in global territories.

The sales mark is as of Feb. 8, 2014.

In addition, the company released the Playstation 4 to Japan this week.

Sony this week released Software Update 1.61 for the PS4.

Version 1.61 is a mandatory update that includes general enhancements to hardware stability.

Sony this week released The Pledge Trailer for The Order: 1886 for the Playstation 4.

The trailer features a story introduction a brief introduction of select main characters.

The Order: 1886 is a single-player third-person action adventure with shooting mechanics and is set in London at the end of the 19th century.

DICE and EA Inc. this week released Battlefield 4 Second Assault for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and the PC to Battlefield Premium Members.

It will be sold to all Battlefield players Mar. 4.

Second Assault features fan-favorite maps from Battlefield 3, including Operation Metro, Caspian Border, Gulf of Oman, and Operation Firestorm.

Zombie Studios this week said Daylight for the Playstation 4 and the PC will be released Apr. 8 at $14.99.

In Daylight, users wake up inside an abandoned hospital and must use the light on their cellphone to guide them through the environment. The phone will subsequently be used to map environments and as a communications device.

The first-person survival title will feature randomly generate level layouts and item locations.

Ubisoft Inc. this week released Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and the PC as a stand-alone title.

The title will is sold for the PS4 and PS3 in the Playstation Network division and the PC at $14.99.

Freedom Cry, originally released as DLC for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, features Jackdaw’s Quartermaster Adewale, who is a master at melee weaponry and commands the Experto Crede, a customizable brig.

XSEED Games this week said it will release Ragnorok Odyssey Ace for the Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita Apr. 1 to U.S. retail.

Developed by Game Arts and GungHo Online Entertainment, Ragnorok Odyssey Ace is a revised and expanded version of Ragnarok Odyssey

The action RPG includes a brand new dungeon with 400 floors, new characters, dialogue sequences, new customization options, and new job-specific powers.

Konami Corp. this week said customers who pre-order Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 for the Playstation 3 via the Playstation Network will receive Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Mirrors of Fate HD at no cost.

In addition, pre-order customers will receive the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Dynamic Theme free.

The pre-order bonus incentive is valid through Feb. 25.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, to be sold Feb. 25, is an action adventure title and the final chapter in the Lords of Shadow series in which Dracula returns to reacquire his old powers.

Sony this week released Capcom Co.’s Remember Me for the Playstation 3 free for Playstation Plus members in the Playstation Network division.

Developed by DONTNOD Entertainment, Remember Me is a third-person action adventure title.

In the game, Nilin, an elite memory hunter trained in marital arts can break into people’s minds and steal or change memories.

Sales for the Playstation Vita ranked as the No. 2 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 18,348 units between Feb. 10 and Feb. 16 to rank as the No. 2 hardware for the week.

By comparison, the hardware sold 18,282 units the week prior.

The PS Vita did not rank any titles in the top 10 for the week.

Meanwhile, the PSP sold 2,944 units to rank at No. 5 in the same period.

Sony this week released Capcom Co.’s Street Fighter X Tekken for the Playstation Vita free to Playstation Plus members in the Playstation Network division.

Street Fighter X Tekken is a 2D fighting title that includes tag team matches between iconic characters in each franchise.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 hardware ranked No. 6 units in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox 360 sold 256 units between Feb. 10 and Feb. 16 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

By comparison, the hardware sold 194 units the week prior.

Microsoft this week said Forza Motorsport 5 for the Xbox One has shipped one million units to global retail.

Developed by Turn 10 Studios, Forza Motorsport 5 is a racing simulation title. New tracks include the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and Spa-Francorchamps.

EA Inc.’s Titanfall for the Xbox One ranked as the top-selling pre-order product at GameStop Corp.’s online division this week due to building demand.

This week, Titanfall ranked as the No. 1 top-selling pre-order product at GameStop.com.

Titanfall will be sold in a standard edition at $59.99 and a Collector’s Edition SKU that includes an 18-inch Atlus Titan Statue with battery-powered LED lighting, 190-page art book, and Atlas Titan schematic poster at $249.99.

Bethesda Softworks this week said it will release Wolfenstein: The New Order May 20 to U.S. retail.

Wolfenstein: The New Order is a new installment in the classic first-person action adventure franchise.

Developed by MachineGames, the single-player action adventure title includes B.J. Blazkowicz in an alternate version of the 1960’s to battle high-tech Nazi legions.

Activision Blizzard Inc. this week said it will release Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark to the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo Co.’s Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, and the PC.

The title is said to compliment the release of the feature film Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is a third-person action title in which users can switch between Autobots and Decepticons in the large-scale single-player campaign.

Capcom Co. this week released Strider for as a digital download title.

The title is sold at the Playstation Network, Xbox Live and Steam at $14.99.

Strider, developed by Double Helix, features trademark high-speed slash and acrobatic action from the franchise.

Namco Bandai Games America Inc. this week released the ‘Cursed’ Trailer for Dark Souls II for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 and Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360.

The trailer includes a narration and gameplay from the final game.

Dark Souls II, to be sold Mar. 11, will include a brand new game engine, new monsters and bosses, additional customization options and cooperative and competitive gameplay.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment this week said it will release Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate – Deluxe Edition for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and the PC Apr. 1.

The title, previously released to the Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita, includes new high-definition graphics, a new map and hint system, 5.1 surround sound, a fully-voiced narrative.

It will be sold digitally via the Playstation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo eShop and Steam at $19.99.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked fourth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 8,782 units between Feb. 10 and Feb. 16 to rank at No. 4 in overall sales.

It sold 7,180 units the week prior.

The hardware ranked one title in the top 10, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze at No. 2 selling 35,717 units for the week.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the top hardware in Japan due to strong demand for the handheld.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 39,716 units between Feb. 10 and Feb. 16 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 48,308 units the week prior.

It ranked eight titles in the top 10 game sales including Dragon Quest Monsters 2 at No. 1, Kirby Triple Deluxe at No. 4, and Pokemon X/Y at No. 10.
