Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 ranked third in Japan in the latest retail figures for the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS3 sold 14,100 units between Jan. 27 to Feb. 2 to rank No. 3 in overall hardware sales.
By comparison, the hardware sold 13,360 units the week prior.
The hardware ranked three titles in the top 10, including Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. Full Boost at No. 1, Diablo III at No. 2, and Sengoku Basara at No.5.
Sony this week said the company’s game division held a 64.4 percent gain in revenue in the third quarter due to the release of the at Playstation 4 to global markets.
The games division held an operating profit of $172 million on revenue of $4.35 billion between Oct. to Dec. 2013.
The company held a forecast of five million PS4 units sold by the end of the fiscal year ending Mar. 31.

Sony this week released Software Update 1.60 for the Playstation 4.
Version 1.60 includes support for PULSE and PULSE – Elite Edition Wireless Headsets, mute camera option, and general stability improvements.
Sony this week said it will sell the PULSE Gold Wireless Stereo Headset for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Playstation Vita and the PC in Feb.
The PULSE Gold Wireless Stereo Headset feature 7.1 virtual virtual surround sound, custom sound profiles, hidden noise canceling microphone, rechargeable battery, portable folding design, travel pouch, and customizable faceplates.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment this week released The LEGO Movie Video Game U.S. retail.
Developed by TT Games, The LEGO Movie Video Game is based on the feature film The LEGO Movie. It will include lead character Emmet on a quest to stop an evil tyrant.
Sony this week released Patch v1.09 for Killzone: Shadow Fall for the Playstation 4.
Patch v1.09 includes in-game Clan functionality, Warzone discoverability, Warzone Parties option, Checkpoint Saving, 30 frames-per-second lock in Campaign Mode, and a VC30 exploit fix.
Developer Ready At Dawn this week said The Order: 1886 for the Playstation 4 will not include a multiplayer component.
The developer said the title is a single-player third-person action adventure with shooting mechanics and is set in London at the end of the 19th century.
The final game will include a linear story-based mode.
Square Enix Holdings Co. this week said it will release Drakengard 3 for the Playstation 3 to the U.S. May 20.
Developed by Access Games, Drakengard 3 is a prequel in the action RPG franchise.

Sega this week said it will release Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F for the Playstation Vita to the Playstation Network division in Mar.
The PS Vita SKU will include the same songs and features of the Playstation 3 SKU and a separate set of Trophies.
The rhythm-based title features 38 tracks, the option to share and edit tracks, and the ability to customize Hatsune Miku with more than 90 different costumes and accessories.
Capcom Co. this week released Dustforce for the Playstation 3 and the Playstation Vita to the Playstation Network division.
Dustforce is a momentum-based action platform title in which users dash off walls and ceilings to clean each level.

The Xbox 360 sold 3.5 million units in the second quarter.
Microsoft this week said it will release a new System Update to the Xbox One Feb. 11.
The update will allow users to manage their storage space, manage the download queue, add a controller battery power indicator, and add the option to use a USB keyboard.
In addition, a system update will be released Mar. 4 in preparation for the launch of Titanfall to improve the party and multiplayer systems.
Respawn Entertainment this week said it will release a beta program for Titanfall.
The developer said it will release details regarding the program shortly.

Crytek Inc. this week released the public beta for Warface Xbox 360 Edition for the Xbox 360 in the Xbox Live division.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 8,072 units between Jan. 27 and Feb. 2 to rank at No. 4 in overall sales.
It sold 8,490 units the week prior.
The hardware did not rank any software titles in the top 10.
The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the top hardware in Japan due to strong demand for the handheld.

The hardware sold 38,229 units the week prior.
It ranked seven titles in the top 10 game sales including Kirby Triple Deluxe at No. 3 and Pokemon X / Y at No. 10.
Sega Corp. this week said it will release Sonic Boom to the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS.
The new title will introduce new exploration, combat and Enerbeam tether mechanic to discover the new world.
In addition, the title will include trademark Sonic the Hedgehog elements.
The Wii U SKU will be developed by Big Button Entertainment and the 3DS SKU will be developed by Sanzaru Games in collaboration with Sonic Team.
