Retailer Target Corp. this week price cut Nintendo Co.’s Super Mario 3D World for the Wii U to under $40 in a new retail initiative.
This week, Super Mario 3D World sells at $39.99, $20 off the $59.99 MSRP.
Super Mario 3D World includes four-player simultaneous, co-op functionality, and new power-up items.
The final game features Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess Peach, each with character-specific attributes.
The Wii U has sold 5.86 million hardware units and 29.37 software units to date. Nintendo sold 2.4 million Wii U units in the third the quarter.
The company forecasted a loss of $242 million for the fiscal year ending Mar. 31. In addition, it has lowered Wii U annual sales to 2.8 million from nine million units.
