Best Buy Co Inc. this week price cut Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox Live 12-Month Gold Card to under $40 in a new retail initiative.
This week, the Xbox Live 12-Month Gold Card holds a discount price of $39.99, $20 off the $59.99 MSRP.
Microsoft held earnings of $6.56 billion on revenue of $24.52 billion in the second quarter ending Dec. 31, 2013.
The Devices and Consumer division, which includes the Xbox platform, held $1.9 billion in revenue, a 68 percent increase from the year prior.
The Xbox One has sold 3.9 million units in five weeks post launch of the next-generation hardware.
In addition, the Xbox 360 sold 3.5 million units in the second quarter.
The Xbox One features an 8-core AMD CPU, Radeon GPU, 8GB RAM, 500GB hard drive, Blu-ray disc drive, 802.11n Wireless with Wi-Fi Direct, HDMI, and USB 3.0.
It sells at $499.99.
