Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One console ranked as the No. 1 best-selling console in Dec. at U.S. retail in data by NPD Group Inc.

The data firm this week said the Xbox One sold 908,000 units in Dec.

The Xbox 360 sold 643,000 units in the same period.

Microsoft added retail spent on the Xbox platform in Dec. totaled to $1.39 billion.

Consumers have purchased 2.9 Xbox One games per console since launch.

The Xbox One hardware has sold three million units at global retail in the year ending 2013.

The company said more than three million units have been sold to consumers in 13 countries before the end of 2013.

The Xbox One features an 8-core AMD CPU, Radeon GPU, 8GB RAM, 500GB hard drive, Blu-ray disc drive, 802.11n Wireless with Wi-Fi Direct, HDMI, and USB 3.0.

The Xbox One includes the Xbox One hardware, Kinect camera, Day One Controller, Xbox Live 14-Day Trial, Day One Achievement, Premium Packaging and Decal.

It sells at $399.99.

First-party launch titles include Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, and Dead Rising 3.
