Sony Corp. this week announced the Playstation Now service at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV.
Playstation Now is a cloud-based streaming gaming service that will allow users to access a back catalog of Playstation 3 titles on the Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and the Playstation Vita.
The service will be available on 2014 Bravia television sets and subsequently span other Internet-connected devices.
Usage includes continuous play of PS Now games between the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. In addition, consumers can rent titles or purchase a subscription to play PS Now titles.
Demonstrated titles include God of War: Ascension, Beyond: Two Souls, The Last of Us and Puppeteer.
Sony will begin a beta program for the service on PS3 systems in late Jan. The service is scheduled to launch this summer.
