Garmin International Inc. this week announced the Vivofit fitness band at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV.

Vivofit is a new wrist fitness band that greets users with a personalized fitness goal, progress tracking and user alerts to stay fit.

Garmin VivofitThe product will learn user current activity level then assign a daily attainable goal. A red move bar will increase when the user is inactive and decrease when the user initiates activity.

In addition, the curved display relays steps, goal countdown, calories, distance, and time of day.

The final product is water-resistant and includes replaceable batteries that last up to one year.

Users can sync the device with Garmin Connect, a free online fitness community, and the Garmin Connect mobile app.
