Nintendo Co.’s Nintendo 3DS ranked as the top hardware in Japan due to strong demand for the handheld.
Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 108,373 units between Nov. 25 and Dec. 1 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.
The hardware sold 84,501 units the week prior.
It ranked four titles in the top 10 game sales including Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai 2 at No. 1, Pokemon X / Y at No. 2, One Piece: Unlimited World Red at No. 8, and Monster Hunter 4 at No. 10.
The Nintendo 3DS sold 3.89 million units in the first quarter. It has sold 34.98 million units worldwide to date. Nintendo 3DS software sales totaled 122.42 million units to date.
Nintendo in Nov. began sale of the Nintendo 3DS XL Gold and Black with The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Bundle.
