Microsoft Corp. this week said it will provide a free game title for Xbox One owners who have incurred a disc drive malfunction post launch.

The free game will be a digital download of first-party launch titles including Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, and Dead Rising 3.

In the hardware error, the disc drive is unable to read the game disc and records a grinding sound when inserted.

Microsoft said that consumers experiencing an issue with their Xbox One should contact customer support via phone, or Twitter @XboxSupport.

The Xbox One features an 8-core AMD CPU, Radeon GPU, 8GB RAM, 500GB hard drive, Blu-ray disc drive, 802.11n Wireless with Wi-Fi Direct, HDMI, and USB 3.0.

The Xbox One Day One Edition includes the Xbox One hardware, Kinect camera, Day One Controller, Xbox Live 14-Day Trial, Day One Achievement, Premium Packaging and Decal.

It sells at $399.99.
