Sony Corp. this week issued a new Blinking Blue Light FAQ for the Playstation 4 following select reports of hardware malfunction.

The FAQ disclaims that when users see a blinking blue indicator light may be related to TV compatibility, issues with the PS4 power supply, issues with the PS4 hard drive, or issues with other PS4 hardware.P>

Blinking blue light symptoms include no audio / video output to the TV and the console powering off after blinking blue.

Solutions include updating the PS4 firmware via Software Update, disconnecting the PS4 power supply from the outlet, checking HDMI or power supply inputs for damage, and making sure the hard drive is properly seated in the HDD bay.

The PS4 has sold through 1 million units in 24 hours post launch in the U.S. and Canada.

The hardware will be released in Europe and Latin America Nov. 29. It will be sold Feb. 22 in Japan.

The PS4 is sold at $399.99.

The hardware utilizes a PC-like architecture with a x86-based AMD Jaguar 8-core CPU, a 1.84 TLFOPS AMD next-generation Radeon GPU, and GDDR5 8GB RAM. In addition, the hardware features a 6X Blu-ray disc drive, USB 3.0 interface, Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1, HDMI, and digital output.

First-party titles for the PS4 include Killzone: Shadow Fall, DriveClub, Knack, Infamous: Second Son, and The Witness.
