Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 ranked fourth in Japan in the latest retail figures for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS3 sold 11,867 units between Nov. 4 to Nov. 10 to rank No. 4 in overall hardware sales.

By comparison, the hardware sold 11,148 units the week prior.

The hardware ranked four titles in the top 10, including Battlefield 4 at No. 1, Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball at No. 5, Grand Theft Auto V at No. 6, and Akiba’s Trip 2 at No. 8.

Sony Corp. this week released the Playstation 4 hardware to U.S. retail.

The PS4 is sold at $399.99.

The hardware utilizes a PC-like architecture with a x86-based AMD Jaguar 8-core CPU, a 1.84 TLFOPS AMD next-generation Radeon GPU, and GDDR5 8GB RAM. IN addition the hardware will feature a 6X Blu-ray disc drive, USB 3.0 interface, Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1, HDMI, and digital output.

Bonus items included with each PS4 include a $10 Playstation Store Credit, 30-day Playstation Plus Trial, and 30-day Music Unlimited Trial at no cost.

The Playstation Network went down for maintenance Fri. amid the launch of the Playstation 4 hardware in the U.S.

The online division has held intermittent functionality since launch. A number of consumers have reported error codes in an attempt to access the service.

The hardware requires a 350MB System Software update to version 1.50 to configure services including Remote Play, online multiplayer functionality, and Share features.

Sony Corp. this week released Resogun and Contrast for the Playstation 4 free to Playstation Plus members.

The titles will be part of the PS Plus Instant Game Collection.

Resogun is an exclusive shooter that includes an array of weapons to take down an alien force.

Contrast is a 2D / 3D puzzle platform title in which users employ shadow-shifting abilities to solve puzzles.

Sony this week released Killzone: Shadow Fall for the Playstation 4.

Killzone: Shadow Fall is set thirty years after the events of the Killzone trilogy.

Sony this week released Knack for the Playstation 4 to U.S. retail.

Knack is an action-platform title that features a particle-based lead character that can transform into different forms small and large to defeat an army of enemies.

Konami Corp. this week said it will release an exclusive Déjà vu mission for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 and Playstation 3.

The Déjà vu mission will allow users to take control of Classic Snake in the events of Shadow Moses from Metal Gear Solid.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is a prologue to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

Developer Infinity Ward this week said a patch for Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Ghosts for the Playstation 4 will update the title to native 1080p resolution.

The update, to be available at launch, will update the single-player campaign to native 1080p resolution. By default, the campaign will run in 720p resolution.

Bungie Inc. this week said the Beta for Destiny will be available first for the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3.

Customers can receive access to the beta through the pre-order purchase of either SKU.

Sales for the Playstation Vita held firm in the latest sales data from Japan.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 21,764 units between Nov. 4 and Nov. 10 to rank as the No. 2 hardware for the week.

By comparison, the hardware sold 27,618 the week prior.

The hardware ranked one title in the top 10, Akiba’s Trip 2 at No. 4.

Meanwhile, the PSP sold 4,010 units to rank at No. 5 in the same period.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 hardware held below 350 units in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox 360 sold 348 units between Nov 4 and Nov. 10 to rank No. 7 in overall sales.

By comparison, the hardware sold 328 units the week prior.

Microsoft this week said launch titles for the Xbox One have gone gold and shipped to retail.

Launch titles include Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, and Zoo Tycoon.

Capcom Co. this week released the Story Trailer for Dead Rising 3 for the Xbox One.

The trailer fetures Nick Ramos and survivors in Los Perdidos and they struggle to survive an undead outbreak.

In Dead Rising 3, users control Nick Ramos through a zombie-infested Los Perdidos, California. The title will include various neighborhoods that users can scavenge to pick up weapons or combine to form new weapons.

Microsoft this week released the Bathurst Trailer for Forza Motorsport 5 for the Xbox One.

The trailer features a behind-the-scenes look at the development to recreate the Mount Panorama Bathurst track in the title.

Microsoft this week it will release the SkyDrive application for the Xbox One Nov. 22.

SkyDrive will allow users to access their photos and videos from their cloud storage on Xbox One.

In addition, users can open photo albums from channels in the OneGuide, play music along slideshows in Xbox Music and control the application with voice and gestures via the Kinect sensor.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware fell in Japan following a spike with the release of new bundle configurations that New Super Mario Bros. U and Wii Fit U.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 17,737 units between Nov. 4 and Nov. 10 to rank at No. 3 in overall sales.

It sold 38,802 units the week prior.

The hardware ranked one title in the top 15, Wii Party U at No. 11.

Nintendo this released the 10 New Things Trailer for Super Mario 3D World for the Wii U.

The trailer features 10 brand new things from the title including touchscreen and microphone gameplay, Captain Toad stages in which users must collect five starts without jumping, and unlockable character Rosalina from Super Mario Galaxy.

Super Mario 3D World, to be sold Nov. 22, will include four-player simultaneous co-op functionality, and new power-up items.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the top hardware in Japan due to strong demand for the handheld.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 81,817 units between Nov. 4 and Nov. 10 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 88,376 the week prior.

Pokemon X and Pokemon Y sold 115,630 units to rank as the No. 2 software for the week. The software has sold 2.84 million units in the region in two weeks.

Nintendo this week said it will add Nintendo ID support to the Nintendo 3DS handheld in Dec.

A system update will allow Nintendo 3DS owners to login with their Nintendo ID from the Wii U console to combine Nintendo eShop account balances. 3DS owners who do not own a Wii U can create a new Nintendo ID.

In addition, the system update will add Miiverse functionality to the Nintendo 3DS to connect with other players.
