Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 hardware increased in new retail data from Japan.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox 360 sold units between Oct. 7 and Oct. 13 to rank No. 7 in overall sales.

By comparison, the hardware sold 354 units the week prior.

The hardware ranked one title in the top 10, Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V at No. 9 selling 26,612 units at launch.

Microsoft in July said the Entertainment and Devices division generated $1.8 billion in the fourth quarter, an increase of $134 million from the prior quarter.

Operating income totaled $142 million in Q4.

The Xbox 360 shipped 1 million units in the quarter, down from 1.1 million the year prior.

Microsoft will release the Xbox One entertainment system Nov. 22.
