Sony Corp. this week said DriveClub for the Playstation 4 will be delayed to early 2014.

The delay affects DriveClub and the DriveClub Playstation Plus Edition.

The company cited more development time required to complete the title.

Developed by Evolution Studios, DriveClub is a racing simulation title that features social networking functionality to allow users to form racing groups and race with friends.

Activision Blizzard Inc. this week said it will release Diablo III: Reaper of Souls to the Playstation 4.

The expansion pack is scheduled to be released in 2014.

Sony this week said it will release Flower, flOw, Sound Shapes, Escape Plan to the Playstation 4.

Flower and Sound Shapes will be sold Nov. 15, while flOw and Escape Plan will be sold Nov. 29 via the Playstation Store.

Each is a Cross-Buy title to allow customers who purchase either the PS4 or PS Vita SKU to download for either system at no additional cost.

Sony this week announced said it will sell the Infamous: Second Son Collector’s Edition for the Playstation 4.

The Infamous: Second Son Collector’s Edition includes the game with exclusive cover artwork, replica of Delsin’s beanie, set of eight pins from Delsin’s vest, Department of Unified Protection patch, and Cole’s Legacy DLC at $79.99.

In Infamous: Second Son, Delsin Rowe, a man who discovers new powers, is on the run from the Department of Unified Protection, a group that aims to hunt down and cage superhumans.

Retailer Inc. this week disclaimed pre-order bundle sales for the Playstation 4 will ship on time despite the delay of Ubisoft Inc.’s Watch Dogs to 2014.

Amazon this week said customers who pre-order the PS4 Watch Dogs Bundle will still receive their console based on their current delivery estimate and that the pre-order is secure.

The PS4 Watch Dogs Launch Day Bundle sold at $459.98.

Square Enix Holdings Co. this week released the Gameplay Trailer for Kingdom Hearts III for the Playstation 4.

The trailerfeatures one minute of gameplay footage from an in-development version.

Kingdom Hearts III is the latest entry in the Kingdom Hearts franchise and features Sora and Disney characters.

Thekla Inc. this week released new information for The Witness for the Playstation 4.

The open-world puzzle title includes non-linear gameplay estimated at 25 to 40 hours to complete.

The final game includes a custom graphics engine to utilize system streaming to load the in-game island.

Sony this week released the Perfect Day Trailer for the Playstation 4.

The TV ad feature two players in real-life versions of PS4 titles including DriveClub and Killzone: Shadow Fall while in song.

The PS4 will be sold at $399.99 Nov. 15.

Sony this week released the new DLC to The Last of Us for the Playstation 3.

New DLC includes the Abandoned Territories Map Pack which includes new locations like the Bookstore and Suburbs at $9.99. It is also included in the Season Pass DLC at $19.99.

Update 1.05 includes gameplay, Interrogation Mode, Technical and Single-Player fixes.

Interrogation is a 4 x 4 two-part objective game mode where rival factions try to steal the contents of the opponent’s lockbox.

Sony this week released an update to Killzone: Mercenary for the Playstation Vita.

The 1190MB update addresses connectivity issues, better distribution of respawn points in all game modes, loadout slots not being unlocked and melee medal issues..

Killzone: Mercenary includes shooting and close-combat first-person action in nine single-player paid-job scenarios.

Square Enix Holdings Co. this week said it will release Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX for the Playstation 3.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX is a follow-up compilation to Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix that will include Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded with HD remastered cinematics.

It will be sold in 2014.

Microsoft Corp. this week said the Xbox 360 hardware has sold 80 million units in global territories.

The console has sold 1.6 million units in the U.S. in 2013 to date.

Retailers Inc., Best Buy Co. Inc., and Target Corp. are offering a $50 discount or gift card with the purchase of select Xbox 360 console and bundle SKUs.

Ubisoft Inc. this week said it will delay Watch Dogs for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo Co.’s Wii U and the PC to spring 2014.

The title was scheduled to be released Nov. 19.

The publisher cited extra time to fine tune and the polish the title for the delay.

The trailer features a cinematic look at new plot details in the final game.

Ryse: Son of Rome, to be sold in Nov., features Marius Titus on a campaign to avenge the death of his family.

Microsoft this week said the Xbox One will include a new Friends App for social functionality.

The Friends App will allow users to follow other Xbox Live members and view their information, like game scores and Achievements.

In addition, users can follow back to view when each member is online or what Achievements are awarded in real time.

Microsoft this week said the Xbox One cloud computing functionality will allow developers to enhance games, multiplayer, and on-demand experiences on the console.

The company said the Xbox One Compute cloud computing functionality will allow developers to balance resource allocation in games from world management, rendering, controls, networking, lighting, physics, AI, networking and multiplayer.

In addition, new server-based gaming will offer dedicated servers to eliminate host migration interruptions, suboptimal experiences for the host, home network NAT constraints, or player cheating.

Microsoft this week said it released Halo 3 free to Xbox Live Gold members.

Halo 3 will be available Oct. 16 to Oct. 31.

The release is part of the Xbox Live Games for Gold program which offers two games a month at no cost to Xbox Live Gold members.

Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment Inc. this week released the demo for LEGO: Marvel Super Heroes to the Playstation Network and Xbox Live.

The demo is available at no cost.

LEGO: Marvel Super Heroes, to be sold Oct. 22, will include more than 100 characters across the Marvel universe.

Nintendo Co. this week said sales for the Wii U hardware increased 200 percent at U.S. retail in Sept. post $50 price cut.

The company price cut the Wii U hardware in Sept. by $50 in an effort to increase slow sales. The Basic Set SKU sells at $199.99 and the Deluxe Set SKU sells at $249.99.

In Sept. it began sale of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Wii U Deluxe Bundle at $299.99.

Nintendo Co. this week released the trailer for Wii Sports Club for the Wii U.

The Japan region trailer features a brief overview of the title including Tennis, online versus functionality, and Miiverse functionality.

The first two sports – bowling and tennis – will be available as free trial downloads. After the 24-hour trial period users can purchase a day pass for a 24-hour play session for all available sports or purchase the full individual sporting event at $9.99 each.

Nintendo this week released the Hulu Plus application for the Nintendo 3DS.

The application allows existing subscribers to stream TV shows, movies, clips, and children’s programming on the Nintendo 3DS, 3DS XL, and 2DS.

It is available to download via the Nintendo eShop at no cost.

Nintendo this week said Pokemon X and Pokemon Y for the Nintendo 3DS has sold four million units worldwide in th first 48 hours of release.

The title is tracking ahead of the last Pokemon titles, Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 by more than 70 percent.

Pokemon X and Pokemon Y are all-new Pokemon entries that allow users to catch, trade and battle in 3D battles.
