Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware hit 4,000 units sold in new weekly Japan retail data.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 4,001 units between Sept. 30 and Oct. 6 to rank at No. 4 in overall sales.

It sold 5,909 units the week prior.

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD ranked at No. 10 for the week. It has sold 36,474 units in the region to date.

The Wii sold 914 units in the same period.

For the three month period ending June 30, the company recorded a net profit of $87.93 million and revenue of $831 million.

The Wii U sold 160,000 hardware units and 1.03 million software units in the first quarter. It has sold 3.91 million units worldwide to date.

Nintendo maintains a forecast of nine million units sold by fiscal Mar. 2014.

New titles to be sold include Super Mario 3D World and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD.

Nintendo in Sept. began sale of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Wii U Deluxe Bundle.

The bundle includes a Black Deluxe Wii U console, Wii U GamePad with custom gold Zelda décor, Hyrule Historia download code, and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD download code at $299.99.
