Sony Corp. this week released Playstation 3 firmware update 4.50 that will address a problem incurred on select consoles.

The System Software Update features include auto-download of system software updates to support all Playstation Network users, auto-download support of purchases made on the Sony Entertainment Network online store to all PSN users, new options for Trophy privacy settings, and data transfer from the PS3 to the PS Vita via Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection.

The PS3 and PS2 sold 1.1 million units combined in the three-month period between Apr. and June 2013.

It forecasts sales of 10 million PS3 units by fiscal Mar. 2014.

Sony will release the Playstation 4 Nov. 15.
