Sony Corp. this week said it will release the Playstation 4 in Japan Feb. 22, 2014.

The hardware will be sold at 39,980 yen ($402 US).

PS4The company said the Feb. 2014 launch in Japan will allow it meet demand for the U.S. launch Nov. 15 and the Europe launch Nov. 29.

The PS4 will be sold at $399.99.

The hardware will utilize a PC-like architecture with a x86-based AMD Jaguar 8-core CPU, a 1.84 TLFOPS AMD next-generation Radeon GPU, and GDDR5 8GB RAM. IN addition the hardware will feature a 6X Blu-ray disc drive, USB 3.0 interface, Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1, HDMI, and digital output.

First-party titles include Killzone: Shadow Fall, DriveClub, Knack, Infamous: Second Son, and The Witness.

Third-party titles include Capcom Co.’s Deep Down, Square Enix Holdings Co.’s Final Fantasy, Ubisoft Inc.’s Watch Dogs, and Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Diablo III and Destiny.
