Nintendo Co.’s Nintendo 3DS held the No. 1 hardware rank in the latest Japan retail data.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 67,022 units between Aug. 26 and Sept. 1 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 51,097 the week prior.

The 3DS ranked five titles in the top 10, including Bandai Namco Games’ Disney Magic Castle at No. 5, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team at No. 6 and Friend Collection: New Life at No. 7.

The Nintendo 3DS sold 1.4 million hardware units and 11.01 million software units in the quarter.

The company cited strong Q1 sales of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, and Donkey Kong Country Returns.

Nintendo in Sept. will release the Nintendo 3DS XL Pokemon X & Y SKUs at $199.99.
