Sony Corp. this week said the Playstation 4 user interface will include social functionality at boot up of the hardware.
Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida this week said the company wanted to show off the social aspect of the UI at gamescom, including the spectate and share functions.
“The minute you boot up, you’ll see all the information about games you own, what your friends are doing, whether there’s any new DLC coming out, or if your friends have shared a video or screenshot. And you can also spectate anyone playing PS4,” Yoshida said.
The PS4 records the last 15 minutes of gameplay which can subsequently be shared to Twitter of Facebook.
The PS4 will be sold at $399.99 Nov. 15.
