Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 ranked third in Japan in the latest retail figures for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS3 sold 12,689 units between Aug. 19 to Aug. 25 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.

By comparison, the hardware sold 14,331 units the week prior.

The hardware ranked two titles in the top 10, including Bandai Namco Inc.’s Super Robot Wars OG ranked at No. 1 and Capcom Co.’s Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara at No. 7.

Retailer Wal-Mart Stores Inc. this month began in-store pre-order sales for the Playstation 4.

In the pre-order sale program, customers can put a 10 percent down payment for the product, make payments over time through Dec. 13, or in full at pick-up on the launch date.

The PS4 will be sold at $399.99 Nov. 15.

Sony this week released the Multiplayer Update to The Last of Us for the Playstation 3.

Update 1.03 includes several multiplayer fixes and the brand new game mode Interrogation.

Interrogation is a 4 x 4 two-part objective game mode where rival factions try to steal the contents of the opponent’s lockbox.

Sega Corp. this week released the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F for the Playstation 3..

The rhythm-based title features 38 tracks, the option to share and edit tracks, and the ability to customize Hatsune Miku with more than 90 different costumes and accessories.

Sony this week said it will offer Capcom Co.’s Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection for the Playstation 3 to the Playstation Plus Instant Game Collection in Sept.

The title will be made available to PS Plus members in Sept. at no cost. It carries an MSRP of $26.99.

Namco Bandai Games America Inc. this week released the Poseidon Arc Trailer for Saint Seiya Brave Soldiers for the Playstation 3.

The trailer highlights the Poseidon Arc story from the original manga in a battle at the undersea temple.

Saint Seiya Brave Soldiers is a fighting title to be sold exclusively via the Playstation Network.

The final game will include more than 50 fighters to battle along three arcs in the original manga.

Sales for the Playstation Vita ranked second in the latest retail data from Japan.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 11,507 units between Aug. 19 and Aug. 25 to rank as the No. 2 hardware for the week.

By comparison, the hardware sold 19,363 the week prior.

The PS Vita ranked two titles in the top 10, including Super Robot Wars OG Saga at No. 4 and Conception II at No. 5.

Meanwhile, the PSP sold 5,735 units to rank at No. 5 in the same period.

XSEED Games this week said it will release the Ys: Memories of Celceta Limited Edition for the Playstation Vita.

The Limited Edition will include a 3-CD music collection, cloth map, compass, and Adol’s travel compass at $59.99.

Ys: Memories of Celceta is a re-imagining of Ys IV with a re-framed story, the party-based battle system from Ys Seven, touch screen and rear touch pad functionality, and the largest overworld in the series’ history.

The title will be sold Nov. 5.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 hardware fell to under 200 units in new sales data from Japan.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox 360 sold 196 units between Aug. 19 and Aug. 25 to rank No. 7 in overall sales.

By comparison, the hardware sold 322 units the week prior.

Microsoft this week lowered the shipment forecast for the Xbox One hardware in 2013 due to poor yield rates of select components, according to a new report.

The Digitimes this week claimed Microsoft decreased the Xbox One shipment forecast for 2013 from seven million units to 6.2 million units due to poor yield rates of the Kinect camera module, optical disc drive and related assembly.

Microsoft this week announced the exclusive Day One content for Ryse: Son of Rome for Xbox One.

Day One content includes access to an exclusive Gladiator Co-op Multiplayer Map called Ruins and the Legionnaires Trust Exclusive Sword add-on.

Day One content is available through retail pre-order or via download for the first two weeks of release.

Microsoft this week announced the exclusive Day One content to be available for Dead Rising 3 for Xbox One.

The Day One Edition will include the Classic Frank West Outfit with Zombie Slugger weapon and the Official Chuck Greene Outfit with Paddle Saw combo weapon.

Day One content is available through retail pre-order or via download for the first two weeks of release.

Day One content is available through retail pre-order or via download for the first two weeks of release.

Capcom this week released Lost Planet 3 to U.S. retail.

Lost Planet 3 is a prequel to first two installments and takes place in the icy conditions of E.D.N. III.

Rockstar Games this week released the Official Trailer for Grand Theft Auto V.

The Official Trailer introduces main characters in the game amid citywide destruction.

Grand Theft Auto V, to be sold Sept. 17, is set in a present-day Southern California location and is the largest and most thriving world in the city of Los Santos.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware fell in the latest weekly Japan retail data.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 7,030 units between Aug. 19 and Aug. 25 to rank at No. 4 in overall sales.

It sold 12,047 units the week prior.

The Wonderful 101 sold 5,258 units at launch to rank at No. 14 in software sales for the week.

The Wii sold 1,103 units in the same period.

Nintendo this week said it will price cut the Wii U Deluxe Set hardware bundle by $50 to $299.99.

In addition, it will sell a new bundle that includes the Wii U Deluxe SKU and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD at $299.99.

The bundle will include a Black Deluxe Wii U console, Wii U GamePad with custom gold Zelda décor, Hyrule Historia download code, and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD download code at $299.99.

Nintendo this week said it will sell The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Limited Edition SKU for the Wii U exclusively at GameStop Corp. stores.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Limited Edition SKU will include a copy of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and a Limited Edition Ganondorf 5-inch figurine at $59.99.

Nintendo this week said it will release Super Mario 3D World for the Wii U Nov. 22.

The title was previously scheduled to be sold in Dec.


Super Mario 3D World will include four-player simultaneous, co-op functionality, and new power-up items.


Nintendo this week said it will release Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for the Wii U Dec. 6.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will include five islands for trademark side-scrolling, barrel-blasting action.

The final game includes Dixie Kong and a two-player cooperative option.

Nintendo this week said it will release Wii Party U Oct. 25.

Wii Party U will include a Wii Remote Plus controller and sell at $49.99.

The title includes a medley of 80 mini-games, including 15 Off TV games that can be played solely on the Wii U GamePad, from foosball to baseball.

The Nintendo 3DS held the No. 1 hardware rank in the latest Japan retail data.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 51,097 units between Aug. 19 and Aug. 25 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 70,997 the week prior.

The 3DS ranked six titles in the top 10, including Bandai Namco Games’ Disney Magic Castle at No. 2, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team at No. 3 and Friend Collection: New Life at No. 6.

Nintendo this week said it will sell the Nintendo 2DS handheld system Oct. 12.

The Nintendo 2DS will play all Nintendo 3DS games in 2D mode only and will be sold in Red or Blue trim at $129.99.

The hardware features a brand new slate form factor with dual screens, analog pad, touch screen, and wireless functionality.

In addition, it retains backwards compatibility to all Nintendo DS titles.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment this month released the New Management Trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate for Sony Corp.’s Playstation Vita and Nintendo Co.’s Nintendo 3DS.

The New Management Trailer features a cinematic introduction to the title that includes a villain takeover of the Blackgate Prison.

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate is a action-based companion title that will continue the storyline of the console version to detail more about the Dark Knight’s past.

It will be sold Oct. 25.
