Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware fell in the latest weekly Japan retail data.
Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 7,030 units between Aug. 19 and Aug. 25 to rank at No. 4 in overall sales.
It sold 12,047 units the week prior.
The Wonderful 101 sold 5,258 units at launch to rank at No. 14 in software sales for the week.
The Wii sold 1,103 units in the same period.
For the three month period ending June 30, the company recorded a net profit of $87.93 million and revenue of $831 million.
The Wii U sold 160,000 hardware units and 1.03 million software units in the first quarter. It has sold 3.91 million units worldwide to date.
Nintendo maintains a forecast of nine million units sold by fiscal Mar. 2014.
New titles to be sold include Super Mario 3D World and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD.
Nintendo in Sept. will price cut the Wii U Deluxe SKU by $50 to $299.99.
