Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment this week said Batman: Arkham Origins for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 and the PC will include a multiplayer component.
The multiplayer component, developed by Splash Damage, will include traditional and third-person shooter mechanics and allow users to hunt as Batman, Robin, Super-Villain Elite, The Joker, and Bane.
Developed by WB Games Montréal, Batman: Arkham Origins is said to include an expanded Gotham City and feature a less-experienced Batman.
The title will take place before Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City.
Customers who pre-order Batman: Arkham Origins will receive the Deathstroke Pack, which includes the Deathstroke playable character in Challenge Mode, two additional Challenge Maps, and two additional Deathstroke skins.
In addition, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate will be released to the Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita.
The companion title will continue the storyline of the console version to detail more about the Dark Knight’s past.
It will be sold Oct. 25.
