Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware fell back in the latest weekly Japan retail data.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 14,280 units between July 15 and July 21 to rank at No. 2 in overall sales.

It sold 22,199 units the week prior.

The hardware ranked two titles in the top ten including Pikmin 3 at No. 3 with 28,513 units sold in week two, and New Super Luigi U at No. 8 with 12,132 units in second-week sales.

The Wii sold 1,463 units in the same period.

For the year ending Mar. 31, 2013, Nintendo held a net profit of $71.7 million, up from a $531 million loss the year prior.

In addition, it held an operating loss of $366 million for the fiscal year.

Nintendo sold 3.45 million Wii U consoles by Mar., lower than the four million target forecast. It expects the Wii U to sell nine million units by the next fiscal year and 38 million Wii U software units due to a strong second-half lineup.

New titles to be sold include Super Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD.
