Retailer Best Buy Co. Inc. this week price cut Nintendo Land for the Wii U to under $18 amid slower-than-expected sales of the hardware.

This week, Nintendo Land hold a discount price of $17.99, $42 off the $59.99 MSRP.

Nintendo Land is a collection of single-player and cooperative mini-games that utilize the Wii U GamePad and Wii Remote.

Activities include Mario Chase, The Legend of Zelda: Battle Quest, and Pikmin Adventure.

Nintendo sold 3.45 million Wii U consoles by Mar., lower than the four million target forecast. It expects the Wii U to sell nine million units by the next fiscal year and 38 million Wii U software units due to a strong second-half lineup.

Titles to be sold in 2013 include Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, and Super Mario 3D World.
