Microsoft Corp. this week price cut the Surface RT tablet to $349.99 after lower-than-expected sales for the ARM-based device.
Surface with Windows RT was released last fall and has sold 1.5 million units to date.
Windows RT SKUs include a quad-core Nvidia Tegra CPU and is compatible with downloadable Windows Store applications. In addition, Windows RT includes Office Home & Student 2013.
The Surface with Windows 8 Pro includes an Intel Core i5 CPU, 1920 x 1080 resolution, digitizer pen, mini DisplayPort, and features compatibility with all x86-based Windows applications.
The Surface with Windows 8 Pro 64GB SKU sells at $899.99 and the 128GB SKU sells at $999.99.
Both Surface SKUs include a 10.6-inch Gorilla Glass screen, HDMI, USB 3.0, front and rear cameras, kickstand, and 2×2 MIMO Wi-Fi antennas.
