Nintendo Co.’s Nintendo 3DS held the No. 1 hardware rank in the latest Japan retail data.
Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 43,269 units between June 17 and June 23 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.
The hardware sold 47,135 the week prior.
The 3DS ranked six titles in the top 10, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D at No. 2, Animal Crossing: New Leaf at No. 6, and Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon at No. 7.
Nintendo in Apr. said the Nintendo 3DS has sold more than 20 million physical game units in the U.S. to date.
The company cited strong sales for new 3DS titles including Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, and Fire Emblem: Awakening.
New upcoming 3DS titles include Yoshi’s Island, Mario Party, The Legend of Zelda and Mario Golf.
