Pre-order sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One Day One Edition SKU climbed to the No. 1 rank at GameStop Corp.’s online division post DRM policy change for the hardware.
Fri., the Xbox One Day One Edition ranked as the No. 1 best-selling product in GameStop.com’s Pre-order division.
The stand-alone SKU was subsequently made unavailable for purchase by Fri. afternoon and the hardware is now sold in bundle-only SKUs.
The PS4 Call of Duty: Ghosts Bundle, which ranked at No. 2 in the same period, previously held the No. 1 rank in the division.
Microsoft this week said the Xbox One will not require an internet connection to check in each 24-hour period or to play offline games.
In addition, users can trade-in, sell, and rent retail game titles.
Finally, Xbox One hardware will not include software region restrictions.
The Xbox One Day One Edition includes the Xbox One hardware, Kinect camera, Day One Controller, Xbox Live 14-Day Trial, Day One Achievement, Premium Packaging and Decal.
Microsoft this month said the Xbox One will launch this Nov. in the U.S. at $499.99.
The Xbox One will utilize an 8-core AMD CPU, Radeon GPU, 8GB RAM, 500GB hard drive, Blu-ray disc drive, 802.11n Wireless with Wi-Fi Direct, HDMI, and USB 3.0.
Launch titles include Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, and Dead Rising 3.
