Pre-order sales for bundles that include Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 dominated GameStop Corp.’s online division this week due to strong demand post retail price announcement for the hardware.
This week, four PS4 bundles ranked in the top five best-selling pre-order products at GameStop.com.
The PS4 Call of Duty: Ghosts Bundle ranks as the No. 1 best-selling bundle in the division.
The PS4 Watch Dogs Bundle ranked at No. 2, the PS4 Battlefield 4 LE Bundle ranked at No. 3, and the PS4 Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Bundle ranked at No. 5 in the same period.
Meanwhile, Amazon.com Inc. this week began pre-order sales for PS4 Launch Day Bundle SKUs starting at $459.98.
The PS4 will be sold at $399.99 this holiday.
The hardware will utilize a PC-like architecture with a x86-based AMD Jaguar 8-core CPU, a 1.84 TLFOPS AMD next-generation Radeon GPU, and GDDR5 8GB RAM. IN addition the hardware will feature a 6X Blu-ray disc drive, USB 3.0 interface, Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1, HDMI, and digital output.
New titles announced for the PS4 include Killzone: Shadow Fall, DriveClub, Knack, Infamous: Second Son, and The Witness.
Third-party titles include Capcom Co.’s Deep Down, Square Enix Holdings Co.’s Final Fantasy, Ubisoft Inc.’s Watch Dogs, and Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Diablo III and Destiny.
Sony this month said PS4 games can be traded-in, sold, leant, or kept forever without restriction.
In addition, the PS4 hardware does not require an online connection, require an online check in, or require authentication.
