Capcom Co. this month demonstrated the multiplayer component of Lost Planet 3 for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360, and the PC at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
The preview build included a versus mode in which one faction must seize and control three stations while the opposition defends.
The ice-based level included multi-tiered terrain that could be traversed via the franchise trademark grappling hook.
When a solider is downed, enemies can finish off their kill with a stomp. If not, the user can be revived by a teammate.
The graphics engine held at 30 frames-per-second. The title featured decent textures, level construction and special effects.
Lost Planet 3 is a prequel to first two installments and will take place in the icy conditions of E.D.N. III.
Players take the role of blue collar worker Jim to earn hazard pay for his family.
The title includes third-person combat and first-person combat in a utility rig. The utility rig allows users to explore the land, set up thermal posts, and report back to the hub area.
The final game will include more Akrid enemies and a full set of multiplayer modes.
