Sony Corp. this week demonstrated Infamous: Second Son for the Playstation 4 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.

In a developer controlled preview, the main character could utilize a range of super powers, which included turning into smoke to beam to any enemy for a instant close-range attack, or deploying fireballs from a distance.

Infamous Second SonMany in-game structures can be destroyed and utilized to take down enemies. For example, users can fire at the structure of a bridge to have it crumble to destroy all nearby enemies.

In addition, users will utilize the Dualshock 4 Controller touchpad to tap and pull away at a vehicle energy core to deactivate it.

The graphics engine was solid at 30 frames-per-second. The virtual open-world Seattle location was well-constructed into the distance, and special effects like smoke and fire held a high fidelity.

In Infamous: Second Son, Delsin Rowe, a man who discovers new powers, is on the run from the Department of Unified Protection, a group that aims to hunt down and cage superhumans.

The title will be sold in 2014.
