EA Inc. this week demonstrated Need for Speed Rivals for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 and Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
The preview build allowed users to play in cop or racer teams to build a team high score.
The controls were solid and held a balance between simulation and arcade controls in winding, weather-adversed road conditions.
The graphics engine was gorgeous at 30 frames-per-second. The demonstrated PS4 build held wide-open and detailed level construction that relayed high-fidelity rain, dust, and lighting effects on all vehicles and tracks.
Developed by Ghost Games, Need for Speed Rivals will allow users to play as either a cop or racer to evade or pursue and unlock new cars and items.
The title will include AllDrive, a new feature that will offer seamless transition between single player and multiplayer modes and allow users to enter and exit races dynamically.
The final game will include the Frostbite 3 engine, car customization, stat comparison, and a new Redview County location.
