Nintendo Co. this week released a large system update to the Wii U hardware.

The update includes reduced time to start the console, launch and exit software, move between applications, ability to install software in the background, control the priority of downloads, improved account selection, and a Undo/Redo button button in the Miiverse drawing screen.

In addition, the company added the Virtual Console service to the Wii U. The service offers NES and SNES titles with off-TV GamePad functionality, access to Miiverse, and back-up saves.

Also, the Wii U Panorama View downloadable demo will be available soon to allow users to view locations in a 360 degree view using the Wii U GamePad. The final version will sell at $2.
