Microsoft Corp. this week said it will reveal the Xbox 360 successor May 21.
The company said the reveal will be broadcast at Xbox.com, Xbox Live and Spike TV.
The next Xbox is said to utilize an 8-core AMD CPU at 1.6Ghz and a D3D11.x GPU from an undetermined source. Hard drive capacity is to be determined.
Earlier reports claimed the next Xbox will utilize 50GB capacity Blu-ray discs for games. Games will reportedly require activation codes to prevent second-hand usage.
In addition, the console is said to require an ‘always on’ internet connection in order to function.
Finally, an improved version of the Kinect sensor is said to launch with the next Xbox.
