Sony Corp. this week released System Software Update v2.10 for the Playstation Vita handheld.

The update offers new functionality, including the option to create folders, save home screen layout, added browser video support, email enhancements, option for Playstation Plus members to update Playstation Mobile format software and upload game save data via 3G connection, and new ‘Mute Automatically’ option.

The Playstation Vita and PSP sold 2.7 million units combined in Q3. Sony slashed shipment forecasts for the handhelds to seven million units by the end of fiscal Mar., down from a forecast of 16 million units.

Handheld software sales fell to 8.9 million from 11.4 million.
