Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 ranked fourth in Japan in the latest retail figures for the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS3 sold 19,069 units between Mar. 25 and Mar. 31 to rank No. 3 in overall hardware sales.
By comparison, the hardware 22,942 units the week prior.
The hardware ranked two titles in the top 10, including One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 at No. 4 and Pro Baseball Spirits 2013 at No. 8.
Sony this week said Demon’s Souls for the Playstation 3 is now available at no cost in the Instant Game Collection for Playstation Plus members.
Developed by From Software, Demon’s Souls is an action RPG in which users must combat difficult enemies with minimal save options
The sequel Dark Souls was released in Oct. 2011.

Sony this week announced the availability of Epix, a premium content provider, to the Playstation Network for the Playstation 3 and PS Vita.

Sony this week detailed Update 1.04 for God of War: Ascension for the Playstation 3.

The PS Vita ranked one title in the top 10 for the week, Muramasa: The Demon Blade at No. 5.

Pre-order sales for Soul Sacrifice for the Playstation Vita ranked in the top 30 at GameStop Corp.’s online division due to building demand.
This week, Soul Sacrifice ranked as the No. 26 best-selling pre-order game title at Walmart.com.
The third-person action RPG title, to be sold Apr. 30, includes melee combat and magic functionality in solo or four-player co-op battles.
NIS America Inc. this week said it will release Black Rock Shooter The Game for the PSP at the Playstation Store Apr. 23.
Developed by Imageepoch, Black Rock Shooter The Game is an action RPG title that includes city ruin exploration, fast battles, and equipment upgrade options.
The final game is said to include unlockable new guns, costumes, and challenges.
Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 hardware ranked last against rival hardware in new sales data from Japan.
Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox 360 sold 598 units between Mar. 25 and Mar. 31 to rank No. 7 in overall sales.
By comparison, the hardware sold 610 units the week prior.
The hardware did not rank any titles in the top 10 for the week.
Microsoft this week said the WWE portal is now available in the Xbox Live division of the Xbox 360.

Tecmo Koei America this week said it will release Dynasty Warriors 8 to the PS3 and Xbox 360 June 16 to U.S. retail.
Dynasty Warriors 8 will follow the stories of the kingdoms of Wei, Wu, Shu and Jin to gain control over the Three Kingdoms of China.
The sequel will add multi-endings, extra modes, and new ‘What If?’ scenarios.
The final game will include 70 playable characters and more than 40 brand new stages.
Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware doubled in the latest weekly Japan retail data.
Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 22,829 units between Mar. 25 and Mar. 31 to rank at No. 5 in overall sales.
It sold 11,398 units at launch the week prior.
The hardware ranked two titles in the top 10, including Dragon Quest X at No. 6 and Game & Wario at No. 10.
The Wii sold 1,858 units in the same period.
Nintendo this week released Toki Tori 2 to the Nintendo eShop division of the Wii U.
Developed by Two Tribes B.V., Toki Tori 2 is a hybrid puzzle platform title that allows users to whistle or stomp the floor to complete levels.
The title includes a level editor using the Wii U GamePad and supports Off-TV play.
XSEED Games this week said it will release Pandora’s Tower for Wii Apr. 16 to U.S. retail.
Developed by Ganbarian in conjunction with Nintendo, Pandora’s Tower, is an action RPG in which users take the role of Aeron to battle his way through 13 towers in order to prevent a curse from consuming a singer named Elena.
The Nintendo 3DS held the No. 1 hardware rank in the latest Japan retail data.
Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 66,980 units between Mar. 25 and Mar. 31 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.
The hardware sold 76,553 the week prior.
The 3DS ranked three titles in the top 10, including Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon at No. 1 and Animal Crossing: New Leaf at No. 3.
Atlus Inc. this week said it will release Shin Megami Tensei IV to the Nintendo 3DS this summer.
Shin Megami Tensei IV is the successor to 2004’s Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne.
The title said to feature new demons, expansive dungeons, epic story arcs with branching plot lines, and game-altering decision making.
Capcom Co. this week announced the availability of characters from Valve Corp.’s Left 4 Dead franchise in Resident Evil 6 for the PC.
Characters Coach, Nick, Ellis and Rochelle are now available in the PC exclusive Mercenaries: No Mercy Mode. Each character includes a special customized weapon loadout. In addition, two Left 4 Dead enemies – Witch and Mini Tank – will make a cameo in the mode.
Atlus Inc. this week said it will release Zeno Clash II to Steam Apr. 30.
Developed by ACE Team, is a first-person action role-playing title in which users explore and take down enemies with first-person fighting mechanics.
