Ubisoft Inc.’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 and Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 held in the top 15 pre-order sales this week at GameStop Corp.’s online division post announcement of the sequel.

This week, the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Xbox 360 SKU ranked as the No. 10 best-selling pre-order product at GameStop.com.

The PS3 SKU ranked at No. 12 in the same period.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag features a new rebel assassin, Edward Kenway, who can switch between new weaponry including four flintlock pistols and dual cutlass swords.

The open world will include 50 locations to conduct pirate assassin activity to command a ship, the Jackdaw. In addition, users can pillage enemy ships to upgrade the Jackdaw with ammunition, equipment and disguises.

The pirate-themed installment will include 60 minutes of exclusive gameplay for the PS3 SKU.

It will be sold Oct. 29. The PS4 SKU will be sold at a to be determined date.

The prior installment, Assassin’s Creed III, includes a Revolutionary War setting that chronicles a new assassin named Connor. The story takes place over 30 years in select historical events.
