2K Games this week released Bioshock Infinite for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 and the PC to U.S. retail.

Bioshock Infinite is a first-person shooter title that includes a new protagonist hired to rescue a young woman said to be held in a sky city called Columbia.

New gameplay includes aerial combat and high-speed Sky-Lines.

The 1999 Mode offers a challenging form of play for veteran users, including demanding weapon, power, and health management and a direct ‘Game Over’ screen if the user lacks the resources to be brought back to life.

In addition, the mode includes permanent decisions that will include permanent consequences in the difficult mode.

The final game utilizes the Unreal Engine 3.

The Bioshock Infinite Premium Edition includes a 3-inch Murder of Crows vigor bottle keychain, 5 x 7-inch lithograph, 25 millimeter Handyman miniature, mini art book, and digital goods including in-game gear and digital soundtrack at $79.99.

The Ultimate Songbird Edition adds a 9.5-inch monster statue at $149.99.
