Capcom Co. this week said it will release online tools for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS at the Nintendo eShop Mar. 22.

The free online tools, including the Data Transfer Program and the Transfer Relay Tool, allow owners to transfer data between the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS and allow users to play their title online with the 3DS using a Wii U internet connection.

The tools were originally scheduled to launch Mar. 19.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, to be sold Mar. 19, includes touch-screen access to inventory and more than 200 quests.

In addition, the title allows Wii U and 3DS owners to hunt with each other via local wireless connection and transfer save data between the hardware.

The Monster Hunter franchise has sold more than 21 million units to date worldwide.

The Wii U has sold more than three million units in global markets.
