The strong sales come amid the announcement of the Playstation 4 in Feb.

God of War: Ascension, the a prequel to the God of War franchise, features Kratos prior to his consumption of rage when he breaks a blood-oath to an unjust god.
The final game includes a revamped combat and weapon system, mini-games, and new puzzle challenges.
In addition, this week it released the Playstation 3 500GB God of War: Ascension Legacy Bundle to U.S. retail.
The bundle includes the 500GB Garnet Red PS3 hardware, God of War: Ascension, God of War Saga, and 30-day Playstation Plus trial membership at $349.99.
Sony this week said Joe Danger 2: The Movie is now available in the Instant Game Collection for Playstation Plus members.
The title includes a total of six acts (levels) to allow the veteran stuntman to recreate action-based movie scenes from mine cart racing to skiing from an avalanche, or jet-packing to safety.
The title typically sells at $14.99 at the Playstation Store.

The Xbox 360 sold 302,000 units to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the month in figures provided by NPD Group Inc.
The sales figure marks the 26th consecutive month the hardware has ranked as the No. 1 video game hardware in the U.S.

Dead Space 3 includes drop-in, drop-out co-op functionality for up to two players and battles against numerous large boss enemies.

Seijiro Tomita, the inventor, was awarded $30.2 million in compensatory damages.
Tomita claimed Nintendo infringed on his patent for use of 3D technology without the use of special glasses after he met with Nintendo in 2003 to discuss the technology.
