Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 ranked second in Japan in the latest retail figures for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS3 sold 18,529 units between Feb. 18 and Feb. 24 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.

By comparison, the hardware 16,934 units the week prior.

Konami Corp.’s Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance ranked as the No. 1 title for the week, selling 308,681 units for the week.

Amazon.com Inc. this month launched a new game division to provide information about upcoming Playstation 4 titles to customers.

The new division features information and product pages for announced PS4 titles, including Killzone Shadow Fall, Deep Down, and Knack.

In addition, the Playstation 4 hardware ranked as the ‘Most Wished For’ product at Amazon.com this week due to building demand.

This week, the PS4 held a No. 1 ranked in the ‘Most Wished For‘ products in Amazon’s Video Games division.

Best Buy Co. Inc. this month launched a new product page at its online division to provide information about the new hardware to customers.

The new division general information about PS4 game titles, controls, social interaction functionality, in addition to videos, images, and hardware specifications.

Sony this week released announced two new characters to Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale for the Playstation 3.

New characters include Isaac Clark from Dead Space and Zeus from God of War. The characters will be available will be available Mar. 19 at no cost to buyers of God of War: Ascension and at $4.99 each at the Playstation Store.

Sony Corp. this week released the God of War: Ascension single-player demo for the Playstation 3.

The demo allows users to preview new advanced combat techniques from the final game.

God of War: Ascension, which is a prequel to the God of War franchise, will feature Kratos prior to his consumption of rage when he breaks a blood-oath to an unjust god.

Sony Corp. this week detailed new features to be found in MLB 13 The Show for the Playstation 3.

The company said fielding and baserunning cameras have been revamped for a more accurate and realistic on-screen perspective.

In addition, users can utilize new fielding controls and customize their player’s batting animations.

MLB 13 The Show, to be sold Mar. 5, is the latest entry in the No. 1-selling MLB video game franchise.

Sony this week began holding a new Playstation Network March Savings promotion that credits users for every $50 spent on digital content.

Through Apr. 1, customers will receive $10 back for ev4ery $50 spent in the Playstation Store using their SEN Wallet.

The promotion includes purchase of all digital product, including the Playstation Plus membership.

Activision Blizzard Inc. this week released the Call of Duty: Black Ops II Revolution DLC to the Playstation 3 and the PC.

Revolution includes four new multiplayer maps, new Peacekeeper hybrid SMG-Assault Rifle, a new Zombies co-op map and a new Zombies game mode.

Sony this week released the Uncharted 3: Drake’s Multiplayer Mode as a Free-to-Play download title at the Playstation Store.

The download version will allow users to play online in all matches and modes up to Level 15. Past Level 15, users can choose to pay to unlock future earned level achievements, in-game items and downloadable content.

Sales for the Playstation Vita climbed in the latest retail data from Japan.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 11,456 units between Feb. 18 and Feb. 24 to rank as the No. 5 hardware for the week.

By comparison, the hardware sold 8,044 the week prior.

The hardware did not rank any titles in the top 10 for the week.

Meanwhile, the PSP sold 8,981 units to rank at No. 5 in the same period.


Tecmo Koei America Corp. this week released Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus for Sony Corp.’s Playstation Vita.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus includes brand new front and rear touch control features, new modes like Ninja Race to compete with enemies to reach the end goal, and Tag Mission to allow users to switch between two ninjas in real-time.

NIS America Inc.’s Generations of Chaos: Pandora’s Reflection is a standard strategy title for the PSP and Playstation Vita that offers solid mechanics and political treachery in a FINAL Review.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 hardware fell below 500 units in new sales data from Japan.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox 360 sold 473 units between Feb. 18 and Feb. 24 to rank No. 7 in overall sales.

By comparison, the hardware sold 506 units the week prior.

The hardware did not rank any software in the top 10 game sales.

Microsoft this week said Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Black Ops II for the Xbox 360 ranked as the top Xbox Live title in the latest activity data.

In the new data, Call of Duty: Black Ops II ranked as the No. 1 Xbox Live title based on number of unique users for the week of Feb. 18.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition ranked at No. 2 and FIFA Soccer 13 ranked at No. 3 in the same period.

Microsoft this week said Minecraft ranked as the top-selling Xbox Live Arcade title in the latest sales data for the division.


For the week of Feb. 18, Minecraft ranked as the No. 1-selling Xbox Live Arcade title based on full versions purchased.

Yi-Gi-Oh 5D’s Decade Duels Plus ranked at No. 2 and Capcom Arcade Cabinet ranked at No. 3 in the same period.

Capcom Co. this week said the Siege Mode DLC for Resident Evil 6 will be sold next week.

In Siege Mode, human players must protect BSAA rookies from enemy players. It will be sold at $3.99 or 320 Microsoft Points.

Ubisoft Inc. this week announced it will release Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag to the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC.

The pirate-themed installment will include 60 minutes of exclusive gameplay for the PS3 SKU.

Capcom this week said it will release Remember Me for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC to U.S. retail June 4.

Developed by DONTNOD Entertainment, the new IP is a third-person action adventure title.

In the game, Nilin, an elite memory hunter trained in marital arts can break into people’s minds and steal or change memories.

Capcom Co.’s Capcom Arcade Cabinet Pack – 1 is a virtual blast with three classic coin-up titles that include extra modes and modern options to update the arcade experience in a FINAL Review.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware declined below 10,000 units in new Japan retail data.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 9,633 units between Feb. 18 and Feb. 24 to rank at No. 3 in overall sales.

It sold 10,744 units at launch the week prior.

The hardware did not rank any titles in the top 10 for the week.

The Wii sold 1,317 units in the same period.

Capcom Co. this week said Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U will include online cross-region play functionality in an online update.

The online update, to be released in Apr., will allow U.S. players to join European users in four-player battles. In addition, owners will be able to utilize off-TV play to play the title via the Wii U GamePad.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, to be sold Mar. 19, will include touch-screen access to inventory and more than 200 quests.

Sales for the Nintendo 3DS held its lead in Japan in weekly retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 74,729 units between Feb. 18 and Feb. 24 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 97,971 the week prior.

The 3DS ranked seven titles in the top 10 including Dragon Quest VII: Fighters of Eden at No. 2, Animal Crossing: New Leaf at No. 3, New Super Mario Bros. 2 at No. 7, and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate at No. 8.
