Microsoft Corp.’s Surface Pro tablet held a sold out status at select retailers post launch of the full PC tablet SKU.
This week, the Surface Pro 64GB SKU and 128GB SKU held a sold out status at Best Buy Co Inc.’s online division. In addition, the 128GB SKU is sold out at the Microsoft Store.
The Surface RT SKU held a similar supply issue at launch, though demand for the ARM-based tablet has been moderate post launch.
Surface with Windows 8 Pro includes an Intel Core i5 CPU, 1920 x 1080 resolution, digitizer pen, mini DisplayPort, and features compatibility with all x86-based Windows applications.
It weighs under two pounds and is 13.5mm in width.
The Surface with Windows 8 Pro 64GB SKU sells at $899.99 and the 128GB SKU sells at $999.99.
Surface with Windows RT, which includes the $499 32GB SKU, the $599 32GB with Touch Cover SKU and the $699 64GB with Touch Cover SKU, was released Oct. 26th.
Windows RT SKUs include a quad-core Nvidia Tegra CPU and is compatible with downloadable Windows Store applications. In addition, Windows RT includes Office Home & Student 2013.
Both Surface SKUs include a 10.6-inch Gorilla Glass screen, HDMI, USB 3.0, front and rear cameras, kickstand, and 2×2 MIMO Wi-Fi antennas.
