Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 successor will include a Blu-ray disc drive and lack the ability to play used games according to a new report.

EDGE Magazine this week claims the next Xbox will utilize 50GB capacity Blu-ray discs for games. Games will reportedly require activation codes to prevent second-hand usage.

In addition, the console is said to require an ‘always on’ internet connection in order to function.

The console is said to utilize an 8-core AMD CPU at 1.6Ghz and a D3D11.x GPU from an undetermined source. Hard drive capacity is to be determined.

Finally, an improved version of the Kinect sensor is said to launch with the next Xbox.
