U.S. retailers this week began pre-order sales for the OUYA Game Console.
To be sold in June 2013, OUYA is a stand-alone game console that includes an Nvidia Tegra 3 Quad Core CPU, 1GB RAM, 8GB Flash Memory, 16-button controller, and 1080p high-definition functionality.
The console carries an MSRP of $99.99.
The hardware will run a version of Google Inc.’s Android OS.
OUYA was created in 2012 by Julie Uhrman and subsequently funded in a successful Kickstarter initiative.
