Retailer Best Buy Co Inc. this week discounted Microsoft Corp.’s Kinect for Xbox 360 to under $90 in a new Easter sales initiative.

This week, the Kinect sensor with Kinect Adventures holds a a sale price of $89.99, $20 below the $109.99 MSRP.

The retail disclaims that the sale price is the lowest advertised price for the peripheral to date.

Microsoft in Jan. said it shipped 5.9 million Xbox 360 consoles in the second fiscal quarter, a decline from 8.2 million units the year prior.

The Entertainment and Devices division, which includes the Xbox business, recorded revenue of $3.8 billion, a 11 percent decline from one year ago.

Operating income increased 15 percent to $596 million.
