Microsoft Corp. this week said Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Black Ops II for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 lead all Xbox Live activity in 2012.

In the new data, Call of Duty: Black Ops II ranked as the No. 1 Xbox Live title based on number of unique users.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 ranked at No. 2 and Halo 4 ranked at No. 3 for the year.

Activision Blizzard in Dec. said Call of Duty: Black Ops II generated $1 billion in the first 15 days of sale at global retail.

By comparison, Modern Warfare 3 raked in $1 billion in the first 16 days of sale in 2012 and Black Ops took $360 million in the first 24 hours in 2011.
