Capcom Co.’s Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U fell outside the top 30 game sales in Japan in its third week at retail.
Media Create Co. this month said Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate ranked as the No. 21 best-selling game title between Dec. 17 and Dec. 23.
It launched at No. 4 in Japan upon debut.
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, to be sold Mar. 2013, will include touch-screen access to inventory and more than 200 quests.
The Monster Hunter franchise has sold more than 21 million units to date worldwide.
The Wii U, to be sold Nov. 18, will be available in two launch SKUs.
The Basic Set will include the Wii U console and the Wii U GamePad in White, 8GB storage, AC adapters, HDMI cable and Wii U sensor bar at $299.99.
The Deluxe Set will include the Wii U console and Wii U GamePad in Black, 32GB storage, GamePad Charging Cradle, Stands for the GamePad and Console, AC adapters, HDMI cable, and Nintendo Land at $349.99.
