Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Nintendo 3DS cleared 400,000 units in one week in Japan in retail data from the region during the holiday shopping period.

Media Create Co. this week said the Nintendo 3DS sold 411,272 units between Dec. 17 and Dec. 23 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 319,025 the week prior.

The 3DS ranked four titles in the top 10 including Animal Crossing: New Leaf at No. 1, Paper Mario: Sticker Star at No. 4, New Super Mario Bros. 2 at No. 6, Inazuma Eleven Go 2 at No. 7, and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon at No. 9.

The Nintendo DS sold 745 units for the week.

Nintendo in Oct. cut annual sales of the Nintendo 3DS by 5.4 percent to 17.5 million units. In addition, it lowered 3DS software sales by 4.5 percent.

Nintendo lowered full-year net income by 70 percent to six billion yen, or $75 million. It previously estimated net income at 20 billion yen.

For the first half of the fiscal year, Nintendo held revenue of $2.5 billion, down from $2.7 billion one year ago. It posted a loss of $359.8 million compared to a loss of $880.7 million one year prior.
