Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware held strong in second-week sales in Japan.

Media Create Co. on Fri. reported that the Wii U sold 126,916 units between Dec. 10 and Dec. 16 to rank No. 2 in overall sales.

It sold 308,142 units at launch the week prior.

The hardware ranked two titles in the top 10 including New Super Mario Bros. U at No. 5, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate at No. 4, and Nintendo Land at No. 10.

The Wii sold 10,346 units in the same period.

Nintendo in Oct. lowered full-year net income by 70 percent to six billion yen, or $75 million. It previously estimated net income at 20 billion yen.

For the first half of the fiscal year, Nintendo held revenue of $2.5 billion, down from $2.7 billion one year ago. It posted a loss of $359.8 million compared to a loss of $880.7 million one year prior.

The Wii holds a global install base of 51 million units.

Nintendo released Wii U, the successor the Wii hardware, to the U.S. market Nov. 18.
