Capcom Co.’s DmC: Devil May Cry for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 and Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 ranked in the top 10 pre-order sales at GameStop Corp.’s online division due to building demand.
This week, the DmC: Devil May Cry PS3 SKU ranked as the No. 4 best-selling pre-order title at GameStop.com.
The Xbox 360 SKU ranked at No. 10 in the same period.
Capcom in Nov. released the DmC: Devil May Cry demo to the Playstation Network and Xbox Live.
The demo includes two levels from the final game, including a boss fight.
DmC: Devil May Cry, developed by Ninja Theory, is a reboot of the action franchise set in a parallel universe to the main franchise.
The title will feature an infested modern world with new demonic threats that Dante must defeat utilizing trademark combo attacks.
It will be sold Jan. 15, 2013 at U.S. retail.
A PC version will be sold later in 2013.
Capcom in Apr. released the Devil May Cry HD Collection, which includes Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, and Devil May Cry 3 Dante’s Awakening Special Edition remastered in high-definition at $39.99.
The Devil May Cry franchise has sold more than 10 million units worldwide to date.
